High Dynamic Range Imaging - Documentation for Tone Reproduction Operators
نویسنده
چکیده
This documentation pertains to the source code and binaries available on the DVDROM that accompanies the book “High Dynamic Range Imaging” [20]. Before compiling or using this code, please refer to the licence information contained in the licence.txt file. In the following section, the procedure for compiling and installing the source is explained. The general use of all operators is detailed in Section 3, while operatorspecific command-line flags are explained for each operator in the remaining sections.

Consistent Tone Reproduction
In order to display images of high dynamic range (HDR), tone reproduction operators are usually applied that reduce the dynamic range to that of the display device. Generally, parameters need to be adjusted for each new image to achieve good results. Consistent tone reproduction across different images is therefore difficult to achieve, which is especially true for global operators and to some ...
متن کاملTesting tone mapping operators with human-perceived reality
A number of successful tone mapping operators for contrast compression have been proposed due to the need to visualize high dynamic range (HDR) images on low dynamic range (LDR) devices. They were inspired by fields as diverse as image processing, photographic practice, and modeling of the human visual systems (HVS). The variety of approaches calls for a systematic perceptual evaluation of thei...

متن کاملReal-Time Photographic Local Tone Reproduction Using Summed-Area Tables
High dynamic range (HDR) rendering is becoming an increasingly popular technique in computer graphics. Its challenge consists in mapping the resulting images’ large range of intensities to the much narrower ones of the display devices in a way that preserves contrastive details. Local tone mapping operators effectively perform the required compression by adapting the luminance level of each pix...
متن کاملRendering high dynamic range images
Within the image reproduction pipeline, display devices limit the maximum dynamic range. The dynamic range of natural scenes can exceed three orders of magnitude. Many films and newer camera sensors can capture this range, and people can discriminate intensities spanning this range. Display devices, however, such as CRTs, LCDs, and print media, are limited to a dynamic range of roughly one to t...
